Frequently Asked Questions

I'd like to see one of your therapists, where do I start?
If you’ve looked at our team page and you already know who you would like to speak to, please reach out directly to the therapist of your choice for a consultation.
Alternatively, if you would like help deciding, you can schedule a consultation with Kathryn, our founder, who would be happy to match you with the therapist she feels would best fit what you are looking for.
You can book a call with Kathryn here.

Where is your office located?
Our office is located at: 4620a Hollywood Blvd. Los Angeles, CA 90027
It is a big house between Home State and Esqueleto with metered parking on the boulevard or free parking on side streets.
When you arrive, you’ll enter a courtyard and will input a code provided by your therapist to enter the waiting room. Your therapist will come find you when your appointment is scheduled to begin. In the meantime, please make yourself comfortable and help yourself to tea and water.
We look forward to seeing you!

How long are sessions and how often do we meet?
Single sessions start at 50 minutes and clients typically come to session once per week to begin. Some clients prefer to meet more often or opt for longer sessions, which can be decided on between you and your therapist depending on what would be most supportive for you.
Consistency is a major factor in creating lasting change and for that reason we start with weekly sessions. If that is unrealistic for you, let us know and we will figure out what best serves you.
-
What is the cost per session?
Our rates start at $175/session and raise depending on type of service and length of appointment. Payment is due at the end of each session.
Sliding scale rates may be available based on current availability and financial hardship.
We accept zelle and all major credit cards.
-
What is your cancellation policy?
Please let us know about cancellations at least 24 hours in advance to avoid being charged the session fee.
-
What can I expect in our first session?
The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and explore what what brings you to therapy. We will gather information about your history and background and will leave ample time for you to ask any questions that you may have.
-
Do you take insurance?
We are out of network providers who do not work directly with insurance. We can, however, create monthly superbills for you to submit to your insurance provider.
Every insurance carrier differs in the amount they will contribute for out-of-network providers, so we encourage you to contact your insurance company to see what their policy is based on the plan you have.

How long will therapy take?
This depends a great deal on the individual goals and needs of each client. For example, if a client comes in for EMDR to work through a fear of flying and nothing more, they may be in and out in under 8 sessions.
Others come to therapy for deeper work to unravel previous trauma, improve the quality of their relationship or to work on symptoms of depression or anxiety. Ultimately, it is the client’s role to decide when therapy feels complete.
We believe that self-discovery is a life-long process. We encourage you to have this conversation with your therapist as time goes on and to explore together when you’re feeling ready to move on.
